Our whiskey barrel cabinet is made from an authentic bourbon barrel from a local distillery cut open to display your collection of alcohol or to use as a home bar. Bottom lid is flipped so the non-charred side is in the inside of the barrel. Rings are secured with several screws to keep the barrel from getting loose as it dries out in your home. We paint the rings black.
We offer 3 color options on this item: dark walnut, chestnut stain, or no stain. Multiple coats of polyurethane applied for the finish. We spray finish on the inside and outside of the barrel. Spraying on the inside prevents the black char/dust from falling off over time. We scrape the inside of the barrel clean of loose char prior to sealing it with polyurethane.
The barrel is fully sanded smooth so it can easily be dusted. We try not to get too aggressive with the sanding so we don’t remove the character (also known as patina) of the barrel. This keeps the rustic look while cleaning it up enough so it will be a nice piece of furniture in your home. Preserving the character of each barrel means your product will be 100% unique and different from all other barrel pieces we make for our customers.
We offer lots of shelving options to choose from: Stationary shelving option – barrel lid. Rotating shelving options – middle and/or bottom lazy susans made from either pine or oak. Barrel lid shelves are about 20.5″ – 21″ diameter. They will be close to flat but not perfectly flat. Shelving made from pine or oak will be cut to 22″ (this makes for a smaller gap around the shelf to the inside of the barrel) and be perfectly flat. All shelving will be stained to match the barrel. Shelves made from pine or oak will be about an inch thick.
Lighting options:
1. Motion sensing battery white light – The light features a rechargeable battery. The motion sensing feature can be turned on or off. You can also adjust the brightness of the light.
2. Plug in – features white and a several other colors to choose from. Turns on/off with a remote.
3. No lights
The top lid of the barrel can also be customized if you’d like for a $50. We won’t put trademarked images, logos, or lettering on any item unless it is your business or you have authority to grant permission to place the trademarked image, logo, or lettering on the item. We use a Cricut to cut a stencil and then paint it on with black paint before applying any stain or finish.
